Ready to elevate your virtual events to a whole new level???

Say hello to our game-changing new feature – Broadcast in Conversation Mode

With this feature, you can present to everyone at your event while keeping them at their tables!

This guide will explore the feature and how it works:

Please note, this feature is being rolled out slowly across events, so don't be alarmed if you don't see it yet! If you need it for an upcoming event, please reach out to [email protected]

What is Broadcast in Conversation Mode

Broadcast in Conversation Mode unites the ever popular Conversation Mode with the functional Presentation Mode to create a hybrid conversation-presentation experience for all your attendees.

Imagine being able to present to your entire audience, just like you would in Presentation Mode, while keeping all your guests at their tables in Conversation Mode, so they can still engage in lively discussions at their own breakout tables.

While broadcasting live, your event still continues in Conversation Mode. This means your guests will be able to stay at their tables, engage in conversations, move around e.t.c. while your presentation is ongoing.

How to start a Broadcast in Conversation Mode

All event hosts (account owners, event managers, and event assistants) can start a broadcast

1. In Conversation Mode, click "Present" and then "Broadcast in Conversation Mode"

2. Make sure your mic and cam are turned on and check your video stream in the preview before going live!

3. Once you're ready, click "Start Broadcast". This will start a 5 second countdown timer before your broadcast goes live.

When you start broadcasting, your audio will be disconnected from your current table - i.e. you will not be able to hear your current table's conversation, but you will be able to see them.

4. You're now live! Your broadcast will appear in the upper left corner of everyone's screen.

You can speak as you normally would do on a table, except keep in mind you're presenting to everyone in the event, not just a single table!

5. You can enlarge the broadcast stream for yourself, by clicking the expand icon

6. You can control your mic/cam settings using your mic/cam buttons respectively from your bottom bar (just as you would do at a regular table conversation or in presentation mode)

Please note, at least your microphone or camera must be turned on at all times during a live broadcast. If you choose to turn off both, your live broadcast will be stopped

7. While broadcasting live, you can still continue as you would in Conversation Mode - i.e. you can move to another table, move floors, send chat messages e.t.c. However, until you end the broadcast, you cannot:

  • Start Presentation Mode
  • Share Screen
  • Send a Text Announcement
  • Open the Whiteboard
  • Start a Shuffle Guests

8. To stop your live broadcast, you can either:

  • Click "End Broadcast" on the stream
  • Turn off both your microphone and camera

Guests Experience during a Broadcast

1. When a broadcast is started, guests will also see the 5 second countdown timer and a bell sound notification to get their attention

2. During a broadcast, guests can engage in conversations at tables, move around the space, and continue their usual interactions in Conversation Mode.

3. Guests too can use the expand icon to make the stream bigger for themselves

4. Guests can also click on the volume icon to control the volume of your broadcast stream vs. the volume of their current table conversation.

For example, if they slide the volume dial towards Host Volume, they will increase the volume of your broadcast stream while decreasing the volume of their current table conversation. Conversely, sliding it towards Your Table means they can focus solely on their current table. This gives them the flexibility to choose their listening experience.

By default, volume control is set to 50-50, so they can listen to both your broadcast and their current table

5. When the broadcast ends, they'll be able to see a notification that the broadcast has ended. This will auto-dismiss after 5 seconds.

There you have it! ✨
