What is Email Customization
By default, Remo has event invitation, reminder, and confirmation emails it will send on your behalf. With this feature, you can make customizations to the text, media, and subject lines within the existing email template Remo uses.
This feature is not for full email customization. You cannot make changes to the email layout, colors, fonts, or order of information. It can only be used to make adjustments to the existing elements (text, media, subject line) within the pre-defined template.
Here are the elements you can customize:
- Sender Address and Name (handled by request through Organization Settings - click here for more information)
- Subject Line
- Email Header Image (image upload)
- Text Blocks (at various places within the email - check the preview of a specific email template for more information)
- CTA Button Text
- Media (Uploaded image or a Youtube/Twitch/Vimeo video + thumbnail)
- Sender Image (image upload)
If you want full control over your email style and content, we'd recommend you to disable Remo's emails and use a third-party email tool to send customized invites, reminders, and other event emails.
How to Customize Emails
1. Open your event settings or create a new event
2. Click "Advanced" and then "Emails"
3. Select the email template you would like to make customizations top:
- Invite (Sent when adding guests to your guest list if email invitations are enabled)
- Registration Confirmation (Sent when a guest registers successfully for your event)
- 7/3 Day Reminder (Sent when there is 7 days and 3 days left until your event start time)
- 15 Mins Reminder (Send 15 minutes before your event starts)
4. Before making any customizations, we recommend checking the default email to see the template and email structure. To do this, click "Preview"
5. Enter your customizations for the chosen email template through the fields below
You can add plain text customization to these text blocks (including emojis), but please keep in mind they do not support any formatting such as bolding text, line breaks, or user personalization tokens.
If you wish to change your Sender Name and Address, you can do so from your Organization Settings. Check out this help article for more information on how to set up a custom sender address.
6. Once you've added all your customizations, you can test your email by either clicking the "Preview" button or the "Send Test Email" button at the top to send yourself the email.
7. If you wish to restart, you can use the "Clear Form" button at the bottom to remove any changes you've added
Important: Please note, any fields left blank in this form will resort to using the default Remo text for that field. For example, if you leave the Subject Line field blank, the email will use Remo's default Subject Line when sending (all of this can be verified in the Preview or Test Email)
8. Once you're happy with your email, click "Save Changes". Now your customized email is live and ready to send out whenever it's triggered!
Remember to click "Save Changes" otherwise your customized email content will not be saved and used
9. If you make any further edits, you can also undo your latest change by clicking "Undo Changes" at the bottom of the form (this will undo only the latest change made)
How to Remove Email Customizations
Want to go back to the Remo default email? No problem, just head to Event Settings > Advanced > Emails. Select the email template you wish to remove customizations for. Scroll down and click "Clear Form" to remove all customizations and then "Save Changes" to apply the Remo defaults back.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Can I add line breaks within the email content?
With this feature, we support only basic text and media changes. We do not support formatting-related changes like line breaks, text enhancements, or personalization tokens. If you wish to have more granular control over the look of your event emails, we recommend disabling Remo's automated emails and using a third-party email tool.
- Can I change the sender address and name?
Absolutely! You can request for a customized sender address and name through Organization Settings. Here's more information on how to do that!
- I've customized my email, but the Remo default email is still being used, why?
First, please ensure all fields have been filled out with your customizations. Any fields left blank, will automatically use the Remo default for that field. For example, if no customized videoor image is added, the email will continue to use the default Remo video.
If all fields are filled out correctly, please check your customizations have been saved. Head over to Event Settings > Advanced > Emails and see whether your customizations are still visible. After making any changes, always remember to click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the form to apply those changes.
If both of the above are done and you are still facing issues, please contact our support team for further assistance (support@remo.co)
- How can I get access to this feature?
